Cold wind swept the fur of an albino pup, her pink eyes narrowed against the gusts. Must...find...a...shaman... she thought. A scent caught in her nose...WOLF! "I must be close to the Baridiganda camp!" she whispered to herself. Then she saw water and her head swam, she hated water, being of Volkenoneka.
She shook her head, closed her eyes and braced herself, she had to do it. She leapt into the icy water. She flinched as it seeped through her fur, into her skin, numbing her limbs. She paddled with all her might, keeping her eyes on the land she saw ahead. Finally her paws touched ground and the albino wolfess pulled herself to shore. She shook herself and walked slowly forward, her legs aching with fatigue. Then a large white and gray shape barred her path.
"What are you doing on Baridiganda territory?" it growled.
"I've come to look for a shaman, and I'm Malaika," she answered, sitting down.
"Chafua," he growled, "Come, I'll take you to Tetesi, you can explain to her why you're here." He turned, flicking his tail, signaling for her to follow.
The white femme noticed he limped slightly as he walked, but that made him no less intimidating. She walked after him.
"Tetesi!" Chafua called out as they entered a large cave.

The silvery alphess of Baridiganda sat in the corner of her den, her head low and her teeth bared. Her body shook with helpless anger and confusion, and her once cold brown eye was beginning to cloud. She swung around as the gray-white shape of Chafua emerged into her view, and her mahogany eye blazed with anger, although her voice was surprisingly calm.
"Yes, Chafua? Who is this?" She stood up, shaking her pallid coat and stepping cautiously over to Malaika. The small albino pup was about a year old, a couple seasons younger than the deceased Claire's son. She sniffed, taking in the ashen scent and then gasping. "Mica is your mother, yes? Has Volkenoneka truly surprised?" She had always respected the ginger female's fierce attitude and her great leadership, even if she was quite younger than Tetesi herself.
Her limber form began to pace around the cavern, and she wore a frown on her black lips. If they have survived the eruption, then they aren't in good condition, she mused. Baridganda-Zaburi Pack will not give away their land. The old rivalry had dulled to no more than a slight disagreement in whether to live in north and south, but with the wiped-out Janichanua between them they were also at risk. She didn't know if anyone had survived in the Blossoming Leaf Pack, but whoever did would come to power . . . and would pose a great threat once their numbers recovered.

Malaika dipped her head respectfully to the rival alphess, "I'm Malaika, and I know not of what you speak, why would Volkenoneka not be alive?" the albino varg had puzzlement written all over her face. (she doesn't know about the fire) "I come here looking for a shaman to teach me the ways of the healer. Renaj died not long ago and sent me to look for Triss, a wondering healer. I've since figured out Triss is dead. So, I came to you to ask if your shaman would be willing to teach me. I can hunt for myself, I won't need to rely on your pack to feed me while I'm here." The pure white wolfess looked at the silvery-gray varg, pleading her to let her stay.
[this has nothing to do with this post, but is it fine if we say Espio did kill Fra'kin, so Mica did rip off half of his face?]
